Fusing Multiple Multiband Images
نویسنده
چکیده
We consider the problem of fusing an arbitrary number of multiband, i.e., panchromatic, multispectral, or hyperspectral, images belonging to the same scene. We use the well-known forward observation and linear mixture models with Gaussian perturbations to formulate the maximum-likelihood estimator of the endmember abundance matrix of the fused image. We calculate the Fisher information matrix for this estimator and examine the conditions for the uniqueness of the estimator. We use a vector total-variation penalty term together with nonnegativity and sum-to-one constraints on the endmember abundances to regularize the derived maximum-likelihood estimation problem. The regularization facilitates exploiting the prior knowledge that natural images are mostly composed of piecewise smooth regions with limited abrupt changes, i.e., edges, as well as coping with potential ill-posedness of the fusion problem. We solve the resultant convex optimization problem using the alternating direction method of multipliers. We utilize the circular convolution theorem in conjunction with the fast Fourier transform to alleviate the computational complexity of the proposed algorithm. Experiments with multiband images constructed from real hyperspectral datasets reveal the superior performance of the proposed algorithm in comparison with the state-of-the-art algorithms, which need to be used in tandem to fuse more than two multiband images.

A Multiband Multiple-input Multiple-output Antenna System for Long Term Evolution and Wireless Local Area Networks Handsets
A novel multiband multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system is proposed. The MIMO antenna system consists of two antenna elements, each of which comprises of three radiators: a driven monopole, an S-shaped strip and an inverted F-shaped strip and occupies footprint of 15x18.5x0.8 mm3 only. The driven monopole acts as a quarter-wave monopole and stimulate higher mode resonance. The tw...
متن کاملMultimodal medical image fusion based on Yager’s intuitionistic fuzzy sets
The objective of image fusion for medical images is to combine multiple images obtained from various sources into a single image suitable for better diagnosis. Most of the state-of-the-art image fusing technique is based on nonfuzzy sets, and the fused image so obtained lags with complementary information. Intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFS) are determined to be more suitable for civilian, and medi...
متن کاملSearch for the Optical Counterparts of Southern Anomalous X-Ray Pulsars and Radio-Quiet Neutron Stars in Young Supernova Remnants
We report on our search for the optical counterparts of the Southern Hemisphere anomalous X-ray pulsar 1E1048.1-5937 and the radio-quiet neutron stars in supernova remnants Puppis A, RCW 103, and PKS 1209-52. The observations were carried out with the new MIT/CfA MagIC camera on the Magellan-I 6.5 m telescope in Chile. We present deep multiband optical images of the X-ray error circles for each...
متن کاملA Variational Framework for Image Super-resolution and its Applications
Image super-resolution is the process of combining multiple images into a single image that has higher resolution than any of the original images. We present a variational framework for fusing multiple co-registered images using the Total Variation (TV) and Mumford-Shah regularizations. We also propose an alternating minimization strategy for aligning and fusing multiple images in the case when...
متن کاملGoniospectral Imaging of 3D Objects
A multiband imaging system with multi-angle illumination and a processing algorithm for multiband images acquired by the system are presented for extracting goniospectral information of 3D objects. Based on a dichromatic reflection model, multiband images are separated into diffuse and specular components. Then, the model parameters are determined pixelwise and archived. Using these parameters,...
